Hulk Hogan News And Updates

Abyss-Mania is running wild on TNA Impact
Wed, 03 Mar 2010 18:31:00 +0400

It’s one thing for TNA to be rehashing WCW story lines from 1997 and 1998 – at least WCW was on fire at that point – but now it appears that TNA is stealing a page from WCW’s not-so-glorious 1994 playbook.

Back then, a big, strong, child-like wrestler named Dave Sullivan gained confidence after Hulk Hogan presented him with a pair of his wrestling boots, which were referred to as “magic slippers.” Fast-forward to TNA 2010: A big, strong, child-like wrestler named Abyss has gained confidence (and superhuman strength) after Hogan presented him with his Hall of Fame ring. Abyss even comes to the ring to Hogan’s WCW theme music from ’94.

On Thursday night’s episode of TNA Impact, Abyss used the magical powers of the ring to break free from handcuffs and save Hogan from an attack by A.J. Styles, Ric Flair and Desmond Wolfe. This led to the announcement that Hogan and Abyss will face Flair and Styles in the Impact main event on March 8, when TNA makes its permanent move to Monday nights.

The Hogan-Abyss story line is a little too cartoon-like for my tastes, but if it succeeds in getting Abyss over as a bigger star than he is now, more power to the TNA creative team. I suppose a magic ring is no more nonsensical than a wrestler who has supernatural powers or a leprechaun who lives under the wrestling ring.

Other thoughts on Thursday’s show:

It was hilarious watching Styles, Flair and Wolfe take turns running into Hogan’s fist. It was reminiscent of the Four Horsemen running into Dusty Rhodes’ elbow back in the day. Right after Taz remarked how good Hogan looked in the ring, “The Hulkster” took a couple steps and limped badly. …

If you’re a Wolfe fan (I am), there was good news and bad news. The good news is that Wolfe was involved in the big post-match angle with Hogan, Flair, Styles and Abyss. The bad news is that prior to the angle, Wolfe was pinned clean by Abyss in less than two minutes. I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with Wolfe losing to Abyss if it had been a longer, more competitive match, but the way this went down was absurd. TNA had done a tremendous job of establishing Wolfe as a major player right from the start, but the new regime has dropped the ball. …

Flair showed a lot of intensity – and that’s probably an understatement – in the show-opening promo. I don’t know if Flair could have been sweating any more if he were sitting in a sauna wearing a fur coat. It would be nice, though, if Flair got the name right of the guy TNA is trying to push as a super babyface. It’s Abyss, not “The Abyss,” which Flair said at least three times. …

I don’t think anyone has ever played an insincere wrestling character as well as Eric Bischoff. His scenes with Jeff Jarrett were really good. It was quite a sight to see the TNA founder wearing a hairnet and flipping burgers. …

I still can’t get over the fact that TNA is putting over the WWE Hall of Fame as the ultimate achievement in the business. I also wish Bischoff would stop talking about “turning the company around.” That implies that TNA was garbage before he and Hogan arrived to save it. It would be better to put a positive spin on it and say something such as “taking the company to the next level.” …

While talking with someone on the phone, Bischoff remarked that having celebrity guest hosts is “the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.” Really? Dumber than paying a large sum of money to the rock band Kiss and creating The Demon character? Dumber than bringing in Master P and the No Limit Soldiers? …

I liked the bit in which Mr. Anderson was cutting a promo on the ramp and Kurt Angle came up through the floor behind him. Anderson heard the crowd react when he mentioned Angle’s name and said, “Don’t worry, he’s not here.” Angle then blasted him with a chair. …

It was pretty unrealistic that one chair shot by Angle onto Anderson’s back would KO Anderson to the point that Rob Terry could pick up his lifeless body, carry him to the ring and pin him. …

I’m not sure what Anderson was going for with the reference to the Vietnamese soldier during his promo. …

I like Eric Young, but when he wears that black leather jacket and white T-shirt and stands next to Kevin Nash, he reminds me of one of the dorky guys from "Grease" that were Danny Zuko and Kenickie’s underlings. …

Young and Sean Waltman had a decent-looking brawl in the parking lot, but did I really see Scott Hall use a chop to the chest in a street fight? It’s interesting that we didn’t actually see Hall hit Nash in the knee with the lead pipe – we only saw the results of it. It still wouldn’t surprise me if Nash is working with his buddies to set up Young. …

After Samoa Joe was kidnapped by three masked men last week, the only follow-up on this show was Taz saying that he had been trying unsuccessfully all week to contact Joe. Perhaps someone should alert the police. …

It was shocking to see ODB being used as the sacrificial lamb to get Daffney over, but I think it’s great that Daffney is being pushed as a dangerous threat to the women’s title. ODB, who did a heel turn not all that long ago, came across as a babyface in this match. You can’t make this stuff up. …

The best match on a show that had very little wrestling was the one between Kazarian and Brian Kendrick. Kazarian won with the Flux Capicator. That’s a spectacular finishing move, but TNA didn’t even bother to show one replay. Instead, they cut right to Young and Nash taping up in the back. …

Taz said that Kazarian doesn’t show any ring rust. That was cute. …

Since Team 3D defeated The Nasty Boys in a tables match, I would love to believe the program between the two teams is over, but I don’t think that’s case. Jerry Sags doesn’t look too bad in the ring, but Brian Knobs is a total embarrassment. …

Beer Money was on TV for the second straight week, so things are looking up – well, at least for them. If you’re The Motor City Machine Guns or Generation Me, not so much. When Matt Morgan took issue with Hernandez for setting up a tag team title defense for them against Beer Money, Morgan said he would have preferred they defended the title against a team such as the Guns or Generation Me before working their way up to Beer Money. Ouch. ...

I must have been dreaming, because I swear I saw Jay Lethal make an appearance on the show.

Hulk Hogan Vs Vince McMahon

FACE OFF ... Hogan wants to do battle with McMahon outside of the ring

LAST week Hulk Hogan shocked the grappling world when he called for an end to steroid use in the sport and lashed out at the number of stars dying young.

The Hulkster also stoked interest by revealing he has raised $40million (£20million) of the $80-100million he needs to start his own wrestling federation and take on Vince McMahon's all-powerful WWE.

Now, in part two of our exclusive interview, wrestling's biggest ever name turns his guns on his former friend and boss.

Hogan slams the ''compromised" McMahon and his "robot" roster, then reveals exactly how their relationship broke down.

He also has harsh words for fellow legend Steve Austin and those who he saw wrestling to "silence" at last year's SummerSlam.

People are going to be very excited when they hear your plans to start your own wrestling promotion. Can you tell us any more?

If I can do what I want to do in the next few months then this will be bigger than anything ever done before in wrestling.

You've seen WrestleMania, the nWo, UFC, steel cages, PPV - but this is something completely different again.

Someone else gave me the idea and I said go ahead go and do this crazy thing.

It is something I would have never dreamed of. It would be like inventing an engine that runs on air that kind of an idea

Wrestling needs to be about the art form again. It needs to be about painting a picture and having a really good match.

Whether the guy can dropkick off the top of the cage or, like me, his boots never leave the ground - it's about understanding what this business is about.

The best wrestlers, whether it's a Hulk Hogan or a Rey Mysterio, are the ones who have psychology and can understand this business.

Do you think anyone can challenge the WWE's dominance of wrestling?

Definitely.

If you look at the numbers when I was in WCW, we used to beat them every week.

We had three times the audience of Vince. He was facing bankruptcy.

Then AOL merged with Time Warner and said we do not want wrestling on our stations, and that was the end of WCW.

Right now, Vince's stuff has been compromised.

With all respect to TNA, the WWE is the only option people really have - but it is not at the level of the quality of programming that Vince usually puts out.

What don't you like about the WWE product at the moment?

Well, I never said I didn't like it.

Sorry, what do you think it lacks then?

It lacks stars, it lacks consistency, it lacks quality story lines and it lacks anybody that understands the art form.

Everybody's out there wrestling like a robot.

STILL GOT IT ... Hulk at SummerSlam

At WrestleMania, you were rumoured to be part of the Vince McMahon v Donald Trump match. Is that true?

I don't know anything about that.

I know I was supposed to be the main event at WrestleMania either against Austin, Big Show or Khali

It is something they had talked about for a year, as it was the 20th anniversary of me slamming Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III.

The year before at the Hall Of Fame, Vince even told me: "Make sure you're ready for WrestleMania 23 because it is 20 years since the attendance record was set in Detroit and we want you back in there as the main event."

But you ended up not being on the show at all. What happened?

Last year, at SummerSlam, I fought Randy Orton - and me and Vince had some problems with the money.

Before SummerSlam, I was a little worried because instead of being a main event match I was on fourth against Randy Orton.

When I heard about the first three matches at the Fleet Centre in Boston and it sounded like a funeral.

And when I listened to the crowd reactions to those matches, it did sound like a funeral.

Then when my music came on it was like the old days people were stood up. It was electric.

Randy is a great hard working wrestler and we fought an old school style match.

That was the most exciting match I've ever had in the Fleet Centre.

I wrestled Sting in a cage - which was a great match in my opinion at least - but this one was better as after second-guessing I was like "oh my god, it still works".

Then Vince went out with his son and wrestled Triple H and Shawn Michaels and it was dead against.

Cena went on for the main event, and people started leaving.

I felt bad when the night ended, as they should have put me on later, but it was the money that really got to me.

I swore I would never talk about the money again with Vince because that's what we always argue about but when I saw the amount, it I was like that like one of my driver's pay cheques so I had to say something.

He replied: "Well you're not the only big guy any more, there are now 12 big guys."

I said: "Well if that's the case let me explain something to you, I heard the first three matches and nothing. I wrestled and I heard what happened.

"And then I heard your match Vince and nothing and I saw Cena and people were leaving. I had a hard time getting out the building because of all the people marching through.

"So who are the other 11 big guys you're splitting my money with?"

LEGEND ... The Hulkster in his heyday

Was that your last conversation with him?

No, we tried to get back on track for WrestleMania.

Vince called me up a few months later wanting me to wrestle his son Shane.

He was raving: "It'll be exciting. Shane can bounce around for you. You can do anything. We really want to re-create WrestleMania 3."

But I said: "How come not Big Show? How come not Stone Cold? Nothing against your son, but why Shane?

"You can re-create everything about WrestleMania III except the magic and probably my pay cheque right?"

And that was the last time I talked to him.

Recently Vince McMahon has had a female wrestler called Jillian Hall play the character of an awful blonde singer - which is obviously a dig your daughter Brooke. What did you think when you saw that?

I haven't seen it myself but people have told me about it.

It's the lowest thing you can do. Like talking bad about someone in high school.

If I have a problem with someone I talk about them. I don't pick on their kids.

So if that's what he's doing then he's desperate and defeatable.

Would you ever go back to the WWE?

Never say never, but I think it would be highly unlikely.

A lot of people are calling John Cena the new Hulk Hogan. He's got the charisma, looks and he has held the title for a long time now. Do you think he could emulate your huge success?

If anybody can do it, he can.

I've talked to John and he's got a real big head on his shoulders. He's not jaded.

He definitely has the opportunity, simply because he keeps his options open.

He is not falling into that replaceable robotic cookie kind of character. He's definitely the one guy that is smart enough to rise and has the talent to move on.

There are two dream matches that are always talked about. You against Cena and you against Austin. Any chance of either of those happening?

Somewhere down the road, Hulk Hogan v John Cena could definitely happen.

But Austin?

Well his claim to fame - rather than slamming Andre The Giant or beating Vince every week in the ratings - is that Austin v Hogan is something he'll never let happen.

If Steve turned round tomorrow and said "I've changed my mind and I'd really like the fight to go ahead" - would you do it?

I don't know. It depends if I was available.

I'm very right busy now.

Hulk Hogans Back Surgery
Thu, 28 Jan 2010 22:29:00 +0400

THIS is the moment that Hulk Hogan attempts to save his wrestling career by having laser surgery on his spine.

The WWE legend made the move after being rushed to hospital due to a sudden collapse.

There he admitted to the doctor that previous injuries meant he was living in constant and crushing pain, which he described as "44-7".

It got so bad that the man famed for matches with Andre The Giant, Ultimate Warrior and The Rock could barely stand up for more than a few minutes.

After a warning that major surgery - with metal rods put in his back - could end his hopes of a grappling comeback, Hulk opted for the lighter laser surgery instead.

The whole procedure was filmed and broadcast on his daughters new reality show, Brooke Knows Best.

The former world champion insisted that he felt better almost immediately after the procedure and proved the Hulk of old was back when he told pal and fellow ex-wrestling star Brian Knobs:

"What the f*** are you bringing me flowers for? I'm not your damn girlfriend."

Hulk Hogan Biography

http://www.ufcmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/Image/march2007/Hulk-Hogan-015.jpg

Terry Gene Bollea was born in August 11, 1953,to mother Ruth and father Peter. Terry weighted 10 pounds and.7 ounces at birth, starting his larger then life career. He was born in Augusta, Georgia. His success story began in 1967 in a Tampa, Florida gym when he started bodybuilding. After studying business administration and music at the University of South Florida, Terry worked as a part time body builder, part time bouncer, very part time musician and full time bank teller. Terry also liked playing guitar with his buddies, later on that. The story has it -and separating fact from reality is difficult in the world of pro-wrestling - that one night while working as a bouncer Hogan met up with wrestler Jack Brisco who immediately saw the potential of this golden haired 6ft 5 inch 300 pounder. He was trained by Hiro Matsuda:

Hiro Metsuda also trained Paul Orndorff and Tito Santana among other greats. In training session Matsuda broke Terry`s knee and Terry quit. Terry took time off and formed a band in Tampa, the Gentrics(not 100% name) and played with them for a while again. Later he met Terry Funk who urged Terry to come back, as he did. Terry was brought into Southeast Championship Wrestling in summer 1978 by Rip Tyler, On Terry`s debut after defeating an unknown local mid-carder, Terry started to be called 'The Wrestling Hulk', Terry helped heel manager Billy Spears and Ox Baker defeat local legend Masked Wrestling Pro ( Leon "Tarzan" Baxter), putting him on the hated list. Then in September Terry had his most memorable angle during that time, against Andre the Giant, which was their first. That led to an Arm Wrestling match, where Terry bloodied Andre with an loaded elbow and he and his manager Billy Spears destroy Andre with the table.

Terry continued working for South East Championship Wrestling, including touring Alabama and Knoxville(and coupe times in hometown Tampa) during the rest of 78. In early 79 Terry has his first ever face turn. It was during an angle involving Ox Baker, Ron Fuller, and NWA champ Harley Race. Race had placed a bounty on Fuller so as to not to have to defend NWA World title against him. Baker & Terry Boulder had been having problems, shoving each other during tag matches after Boulder cost Baker a match, later during Bakers' match Ron Fuller came to the ring only to receive the heartpunch(move Baker was build on as even killing somebody with it). While Ox is beating up Fuller, Boulder comes out to help Fuller and even carries him on his shoulder back to the dressing room. That night Fuller was booked to face Race for the NWA title, due to the heart punch was unable and Terry took his place, in what was Terry`s first World title match. Due to Baker`s interference Terry won via DQ, but didn`t win the title. Then around February or march Terry defeated Ox Baker for his first wrestling title, to become the South Eastern Heavyweight champion recognized in Alabama. [Michael Calloway, who helped me with the Alabama-Knoxville, and was there in Dothan, Alabama to see these matches, can`t explain why Terry Boulder/Ox Baker/Austin Idol were not recognized as South East Heavyweight champs in Knoxville. However in the unofficial list they`re 100% recognized and there`s no doubt they were champs!] Around June 1979 during an ongoing feud with Austin Idol, Idol beat Terry after cheating him out and got the South Eastern title. In July 1979 Terry received his 2nd World title match also against Harley Race, during the match Idol came down dressed up and flashed a camera in Terry`s face, allowing Race to nail his top rope Head Butt for the 1-2-3. The Idol-Boulder feud continued in Alabama for the next couple months, which saw Idol 'break' Terry`s leg. In mid 1979 Race and Idol brought Terry to NWA Georgia! He was given the Sterling Golden (bigger, better, stronger and improved gorgeous George gimmick) and he fought Handicap matches and used the Sterling Squeeze Bear Hug as his finisher. His major feud in NWA Georgia was against "Mr.USA" Tony Atlas. He was never pushed but his heel character was well protected. Terry offered $10,000 to every one who can break out of his Squeeze. Terry then returned to Southeastern Championship Wrestling, under his new Sterling Golden gimmick and this time was given big push for the recognized Southeastern Heavyweight title, beating Bob Roop for the title

McMahon at this time was looking for more Billy Graham and Jesse Ventura type of heels, and he noticed Bollea. McMahon Sr. met Bollea and they inked a deal. Bollea was already called The Hulk among promotions, McMahon wanted Bollea to die his hair red and named him Hogan.. Hulk Hogan to be for the Irish men, as Terry mentioned on Larry King Live. Terry said that his hair was already falling out and if he`s die it the game would`ve been over (lol) so McMahon let him go as he is. In December 79 Hulk Hogan debuted in the WWWF, defeating Ted DiBiase in a matter of seconds in his first MSG match. Fuller and the South Eastern promotion wheren`t happy about Terry`s schedule and in January asked him to drop the belt to Bob Armstrong, that was the end of Sterling Golden. Hulk was given the legendary Freddie Blassie as his manager, being a heel and getting a big push for the next couple months. After beating the best mid-carders, Hulk was moved to Andre the Giant and main event status. Then receiving a title shot against Bob Backlund in which he won via a count out. During that time, much like for Jesse Ventura and Billy Graham, fans, mainly females started cheering for Hulk. Terry was put on a New-Japan tour in a MSG Tag tournament teaming up with Stan Hansen managed by Blassie.. After returning to the WWF, Hulk lost to Tony Atlas and Bob Backlund. Terry continued working for New-Japan and being successful, Terry continued with New-Japan wrestling in the MSG tourney, while still under contract to McMahon. Terry was brought to feud with Jerry Lawler to Memphis as a major heel, the usual build up and the usual DQ as Jimmy Hart`s top heels usually did.

While still under contract to the WWF, Terry got a note from Sylvester Stallone, It asked him to star in RockyIII. Then after his tour in Japan, he was called by Stallone himself and asked to fly to Los Angeles for the movie right away, the problem was that McMahon had booked Terry for that day for Charlotte, N.C. McMahon said he`d fire Terry if he wouldn`t show up, Terry didn`t show up and next thing you know he was down in Minneapolis, signing with Verne Gagne. AWA needed a hero, and they got him. Hulk Hogan entered the AWA in 1981, as a huge heel, he faced Sonny Rogers on his debut, and AWA was never the same. By that time fans found out about Terry starring in Rocky III and Hulk was being cheered, then when the film came out in start of 82, Terry was getting huge pops from the crowd and AWA Gagne and Bockwinkel had to turn him face! They did, in a match against Harley Race, Terry kicked out from the top rope Head Butt and hulked up for the first time. The fans went crazy as Terry beat Race.

He was great!!! Pummeling down the "Ultimate Meatball" Rocky Ballboa, showing at the end that this was all just for fun and a great cause.

From here and on the Hulkster became the most popular thing!! Feuding with the Heenan Family (Bobby Heenan & Nick Bockwinkel & Bobby Dunckam & Ken Patera). Being the hero in AWA fans` hearts Hogan won a Battle Royal which gave him the right to face the champ Nick Bockwinkel. This was Hulk Hogan`s 3rd world title shot, Hogan had Bockwinkel pinned at one point, but Heanen smacked Hogan from the outside, then later Heenan threw to Bockwinkel some kind of foreign Object, which Hogan got and hit Bockwinkel with it. Reff counted for 3 and Hulk Hogan for the delight of the crowd became the NEW AWA World Heavyweight champion. Unfortunately the tape was "reviewed" and the belt was given back to Bockwinkel. McMahon asks Terry to come back to the WWF, he does and right away goes for the biggest tournament in Japan`s history up until then. 1983 Hulk Hogan went back to New-Japan. Hogan enters the first annual IWGP (International Grand Prix Wrestling) 10 men round-robin tournament. With two representatives from each of five different zones in the world.

Hulk Hogan along with the great late Big John Studd represented the United States. During the tournament Hulk Hogan draws Antonio Inoki, defeats Killer Khan, defeats Big John Studd, draws Andre the Giant, wins via Count Out over Rusher Kimura, defeats Canek, defeats Enrique Vera, defeats Otto Wanz and defeats Akira Maeda. Then both Hulk Hogan and Antonio Inoki have 37 points. They go to the final match. At 21`23 Hulk Hogan hits Inoki with a Lariat knocking Inoki down with his head hitting the floor hard and Hulk gets the Count Out and wins the title, getting a huge ovation, and receiving a trophy and the title.

Now the press celebrated, they have Hogan as an actor and the most popular wrestler, what`s next for Hogan. Here are 3 of biggest stars in the early 80s! January 7th 1984, Bob Backlund faces Samoan Samu week and a half after loosing the WWF title to The Iron Sheik. Backlund sees that there`re other 2 Samoans and Lou Albano ringside, and he brings a huge surprise to watch his back the IWGP Heavyweight champ HULK HOGAN***. The Fans go crazy as Hulk Hogan (also must mention that Mean Gene,Roddy Piper and David Shultz also debuted about that time after leaving the AWA,along with many other talents from AWA). Fans recognize Hulk Hogan and pop big time when he cleans house of the Samoans.Wrestling was never the same from there on. While the eye of the tiger theme is playing. Then the move that made wrestling what it is today: Time and date January 23, 1984! The transformation from simple wrestling to wrestling main stream and family entertainment. After the movie Rocky III the AWA title and now the IWGP title, Hulkamania stormed to the WWF! The media following IWGP Heavyweight champion Hulk Hogan facing the WWF World champ Iron Sheik. History was made! as Hulk Hogan became the new WWF World Heavyweight Champion.

Hulk Hogan made history when he defeated the Iron Sheik, the media was there, the whole world changed and every one was talking about one and only man,Hulk Hogan. Here begins the new era of wrestling. While being the WWF World Heavyweight champ, Hulk works New-Japan and keeps making huge impact here and in the rising sun. Then in 1985 Wrestlemania It was born based on Hulkamania. The first huge wrestling event that led to PPVs sky high buyrates in the next years, the show that Hogan did so much for promoting along with friend Roddy Piper on MTV, and joined by A Team`s Mr.T and MTV music rock star Cyndi Lauper changed the world, as wrestling was part of the entertainment field and was covered 24 7!

WrestleMania I was a huge success. Thanks to 2 great men. Who did it and made wrestling. The 2 men responsible for wrestling being what it is today: Even though McMahon and the Hulkster don`t like each other now adays, I still respect McMahon and think that he`s the #1 brain of all times in pro-wrestling.

That`s the story how Terry came to greatness and the rest is history known to every wrestling fan. In 91 and 94 Terry was involved in the steroid trial. Important notes are, Terry is involved in many charity organizations, such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in which most big two wrestlers are involved, others like Pediatric AIDS Center, Special Olympics and the Starlight Foundation. Terry is married to Linda and has two kids, son Nick(9) and daughter Brooke(11). I stand corrected about Terry being Super Destroyer, as he wasn`t under a mask, rather in his usual outfit, while wrestling for Hiro Matsuda in Tampa, before he quit and returned. This happened, before Terry officially went to a big terittory and I did not count it, as this was only a gimmick while he was training in Matsuda`s school, so again I stand corrected, as Terry indeed was nicknamed Super Destroyer at around 76-77 while working and training for Matsuda`s school.

Hulk Hogan's Press Conference

Hulk Hogan streaming blood after press conference attack - is it fake?

Hulkamania Press Conference

Hulk Hogan was viciously “attacked” while in Australia today. I use the quotation marks because it was the fakest attack ever, though a lot of the press is buying it. I’m not, because I’m a jaded, cold-hearted bitch. And because it was cheesy and obvious and involved some really bad acting. I think Hulk’s blood might have been real, although there was a bit too much of it.

Anyhoo, Hulk was in Australia to promote his wrestling tour, “Hulkamania: Let The Battle Begin.” Conveniently, while promoting wrestling, Hulk was attacked! What are the odds? By his rival, Ric Flair! And it followed some “your wife is so ugly, her birth certificate was an apology letter from the condom factory”-type barbs. The next thing we know, Hulk is getting slapped upside the head. Now admittedly (thankfully), I’ve never been slapped. But I’m under the impression that it doesn’t normally result in blood, and when it does, it’s not this much. But here you go, judge for yourself.

Hulk Hogan sported a crimson mask of blood as he was escorted by pal Brian Knobs after being attacked by his wrestling rival, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, during a news conference in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday.

The event was to promote his upcoming wrestling tour, Hulkamania: Let The Battle Begin. The hysteria erupted as the pair of wrestling legends traded barbs at the pulpit to hype the upcoming shows. When Hogan turned his head way from Flair — who is aptly nicknamed “The dirtiest player in the game” — Flair laid a cheap shot in on the 56-year-old reality TV star, before getting in a few jabs once the Hulkster was down.

Hogan will have a chance of revenge when he dusts off his yellow and red wrestling gear for the tour, which begins Nov. 24 in Melbourne. Other notable wrestlers scheduled for action on the tour are Diamond Dallas Page, and some of the Hulkster’s Hogan Knows Best cronies Brutus Beefcake and The Nasty Boys as well as Rikishi, Umaga and Val Venis.

Flair, 60, is wrestling for the first time since losing a much ballyhooed “retirement” match for WWE in March 2008, which drew more than 74,000 fans to Florida’s Citrus Bowl. We don’t think WWE owner Vince McMahon can be too thrilled about Flair’s swift — and lucrative — return to action.

How fortunately timed. When you watch the video, you can hear someone’s voice – it’s hard to tell whose, but I think it’s Hulk’s – yelling over and over again, “What are you doing Rick?” In the worst over-acting, akin to a middle school drama club. The reporter in the clip below clearly felt badly, admitting he thought it was staged and was laughing. Until – of course – Rick Flair starts screaming at him. But remember, this is all real! Be scared! Boo!

Luckily, the auspicious Chicago Sun-Times agrees with me. Even though TMZ thinks is buying it.

Hulk Hogan may be 56-years-old but he’s still making the rounds in the wrestling world. The aging star was involved in what was clearly a staged attack during a media event in Australia this week. Some of the assembled news media, there to cover a promotion for Hulk Hogan’s next event, seemed to be fooled by the skit. The video below shows the encounter and the bloody aftermath.

All I can say is I wish it were real. It’d be the highlight of my week if someone really “attacked” (slapped) Hulk Hogan. Or any Hogan, really. Well, any famous Hogan. Please don’t go out and just smack a person who unfortunately bears the Hogan surname to make me happy. Please at least find a bleached blonde one with a douchy grin and an undeserved sense of entitlement. Then slap away.

Hulk Hogan still loves his wife

Hulk Hogan still loves his wife

Hulk Hogan revealed to People that he still unconditionally loves his ex-wife Linda - even though she filed for divorce and currently has a 19-year-old kid ensnared in her leather vagina. But Hulk still keeps that torch burning and blames the reality for amplifying their problems. In the meantime, he's been able to fix his relationship with Brooke: Hogan says his relationship with Brooke, 20, "was strained for a while" after Brooke learned that Hogan had a brief fling with one of her close friends, a woman in her 30s. "Brooke has gone through a range of emotions," Hogan says. "She was a little confused about who everybody was, and maybe had misinformation, but right now Brooke understands who I am, and who her mom is, and what's real and not real. She's doing real well now." Smart thinking, Hulk. You can't have Linda, so you've moved on to her clone Brooke. Sure, her skin lacks the texture of beef jerky, but you didn't build the world's largest tanning bed for nothing. It may have taken years and they all laughed at you, but soon you'll be having burnt crispy sex faster than you can say "We're moving to Arkansas, brotha!" Photo: Getty Images
